Huntsville, Alabama is located in the northern part of the state in the picturesque Tennessee Valley. Just two hours south of Nashville, Tennessee, it has plenty to offer its residents and visitors alike. Nicknamed the “Rocket City”, it is the home to NASA and the legendary Space Camp! Huntsville is also home to the Red Stone Arsenal and has a very large government contractor work force associated with it. This gorgeous community is nestled right in the middle of an outdoor paradise with the community designed with active people in mind. There are abundant hiking/running trails as well as water activities at nearby Lake Guntersville and along numerous rivers all with breathtaking views of the mountains. There is a wide variety of dining options from the delicious Food Trucks to fine dinning at Conner’s Seafood, Grill 29, or my favorite, I Love Sushi. There is also plentiful shopping available from traditional malls and farmers’ markets to more specialty shopping found at the Bridge Street Town Center. The school system is top notch in this tech savvy community where most students are issued an iPad or laptop depending on their grade level. This is a beautiful, stress-free place to live, enjoy, and raise a family. In fact, in 2009 Huntsville was named America’s Top City by Kiplinger.com. With roughly 180,000 residents and a metropolitan area that boasts a little over 400,000 residents, it has become small yet high tech community.
