Huntsville Holiday Real Estate

Huntsville Holiday Real Estate
By Jason Paul

I hope that everyone had a wonderful weekend. Thanksgiving is definitely my favorite holiday of the year as you get to gather around with friends and family and celebrate the important things in life. The last few weeks for my family has been an exciting time. We closed on our brand new Jeff Benton home, went to New Orleans for my wife’s first half-marathon, and we had our first ever Thanksgiving together with family in our new home.

The fall and winter months are a great time to buy and sell real estate in Huntsville, Alabama as the holidays are upon us and the children are out of school. The availability of moving trucks, furniture deliveries, and appliance deliveries are much easier to schedule this time of year. My family was able to pick out a couch and have it delivered the next day without an additional charge. We also were easily able to easily schedule our cable/internet installation and utilities start up for the day we moved in. One of the great benefits of living in the City of Huntsville is that they combine your electric, gas, water/sewer, and trash recycle onto one bill. That is one bill to pay and one phone call to make to set up your utilities and approximately 10 minutes online to set up your cable/internet. This may not seem like much at first, but as your closing date approaches you will appreciate this timesaver in the midst of everything else that is going on. So when your family visits you this year for the winter holidays remember that with a good realtor® by your side that it is very possible not to just share Huntsville, Alabama with your family and friends, but you can also turn them into neighbors and bring your family closer together. And after all isn’t that what the holidays are really all about? If you know anyone who is looking to buy, sell, or invest in real estate I would appreciate the opportunity to help them. Talk to you soon.

Never Too Far

Never Too Far
By Jason Paul

This week started off as a full sprint. After my open house this weekend I received a text message from a friend asking if I could find him a Realtor® back in his hometown of Virginia. Obviously, I was honored that he trusted me to match him with a local Realtor® that would assist him in the biggest transaction of his life to date. I gathered the specific information that he was looking for in a home such as location, price, number of bedrooms, number of bathrooms, etc., and began my search. I wanted to find someone that not only could work with him in the area he requested, but also someone who would work well with his personality and understood his profession as a Paramedic/Firefighter. After hours of searching, I found him a Realtor® that worked in the area that he requested as well as someone who was a former career EMT/Firefighter in a busy 911 system. This relationship enabled my client to have a Realtor® that understood his work schedule and gave them a common ground to start their business relationship from. I know that I have talked about this topic in a prior blog, but felt it was extremely important to demonstrate how valuable I can be as a resource no matter where someone is located. I know that my friend will be taken care of in a professional manner, in the same way in which I treat my clients, and become a proud home owner. Talk to you soon.

TopLine Tires

TopLine Tires

By Jason Paul

This week has been an eventful one to say the least.  On Monday, while driving home from the office, a light I had never seen before flashed on my dashboard.  After pressing various buttons on my steering wheel I realized it was my low tire pressure warning light.  I had a flat tire that I could hear as I was getting out of my vehicle to investigate the situation.  My tire pressure was 20PSI and usually runs at 36PSI, so I pumped it up with air and quickly drove to my new favorite auto shop, TopLine Tires on Memorial Pkwy in Huntsville, Alabama.  I have been having several issues with the local Dodge dealership and have made Topline Tires the new home of my Charger R/T Max.  As expected, upon hearing what was going on they immediately pulled that tire off and began getting ready to fix the flat when they noticed I had run over a saw blade of all things.   Unfortunately, this could not be patched due to its size, and since my tires’ tread was getting low anyway, I figured this was apparently a perfect time to buy four new tires.  Since it was late in the afternoon they had to order my tires, so in the meantime, they put my spare on and did not charge me for any of the work that was done that day.  I thanked them and felt that this was only fair since I had to drive around on a donut in a sports car…how embarrassing.  My tires were installed the next morning without incident and as a bonus I discovered that if you buy your tires from TopLine Tires they automatically come with road hazard protection that does cover saw blades, I checked.  This is the third time I have been to this store where they did not charge me to look at my vehicle.  TopLine Tires is very competitive with their prices and they are fast and efficient with their services.  They are also very honest and in the automotive business unfortunately that is sometimes hard to come by.  So if you are in Huntsville, Alabama and need work done on your vehicle stop by and let them take a look.  You will be pleasantly surprised when you see what good service is supposed to look like.  Talk to you soon.

The Best Part of Being a Realtor®

Throughout this past week I had the pleasure of talking to so many different people while working around town and this Sunday, as the weekend was wrapping up, was no exception. I decided to try something a little unusual and held an open house at a rare ranch style condominium at Timbers Edge in Hampton Cove. This community is nestled at the base of the Monte Sano Mountain with picturesque views at every turn. As I pulled into the community and over the small bridge there was a brief second where I felt like I was at Disney World. I was greeted by numerous smiling faces in the neighborhood and all the landscape was immaculate. As I pulled into the driveway, I just had a feeling that this open house was going to be awesome. This ranch style condo is move-in ready and is extremely clean. With hardwood floors throughout and multiple skylights, it shows incredibly well and I had not even turned the lights on yet. I immediately had three visitors only minutes after opening the doors to start the open house. Everyone seemed to love the open floor plan, the great use of colors throughout, and the huge amount of natural light that made it truly feel like a home. Many of my guests could not believe the amount of storage that was available in the kitchen pantries or the vast amount of granite countertop space that was available. With approximately 1,940 square feet it had a great house feel and look, but without all of the exterior yard work since it was still a condo. I was able to speak with the various families that came to the open house and really enjoyed watching their faces light up and they toured the residence. All of the visitors were amazed at the various features that the home had to offer and everyone of them stated that this listing was priced extremely well. I realized that hearing everyone’s stories and being there to help them through the biggest and most important transaction of their lives was what being a Realtor® was all about. As a Paramedic for 19 years, I know I made a big difference in many patients lives with my professionalism and sense of humor. As a Realtor®, I know that I will continue being a professional and remain an advocate for my new patients, my clients. Talk to you soon.
